Blessing Mankind Outreaches

On the 21st November 2009, Blessing Mankind kicked off its first outreach via Free Medical Service to the Nigerian Community. The day began at 10.00am which saw people steadily coming to the car park opposite Wuse Market Abuja to receive free medical consultation and free drugs. We had three canopies. One of the canopies had the doctors under it where the people came and were tested for Urine glucose levels, blood pressure and other general symptoms. Volunteer doctors available that day were Dr. Ojonugwa Adah, Dr. Kayode and Dr Akagwu . We also had Mike a pharmacist and Nanna a trained Nurse dispensing prescribed drugs to the patients.

We had a tent to shield people from the sun while waiting for consultation but the crowd soon outgrew the space provided.

Blessing Mankind also provided chilled bottled water to all present during the outreach. Many discovered they were hypertensive, some had  dangerous levels of glucose in their system. Many people got drugs for their ailment and many were referred for further tests.

It was a rewarding and exhilarating experience to see many people from different faiths praise God for free medical services. Almost everyone was amazed that Blessing Mankind was powered by a church. They pleaded for a repeat of the event as often as possible.

Blessing Mankind reached out to the community again on the 28th of January 2010. The venue was same as the previous outreach. This time we had four doctors to consult with the people and a senior nurse. The doctors were Dr Ojonugwa Adah, Dr Goodluck ( A consultant pediatrician) Dr Kayode (Topcare Health Plus), and Dr Daramola (M.I)along with Mrs Mero Adah (A Matron at National Hospital Abuja).

The free medical clinic flagged off at 10.00am. And the crowd came pouring in. We were able to register over 300 people that received medical consultation and drugs from Blessing Mankind.

As the crowd grew, we had to stop people from coming as the number of people became too much for the medical personnel to handle in one day. We had over 30 volunteers from Savannah Ministries. They counseled, ministered to the crowd and prayed for some. Some of the volunteers packages drugs, others helped with the urine analysis, organized the crowd and registered the people.

Funds to buy the drugs came from Savannah Ministries and Blessing Mankind was able to procure drugs ranging from Analgesics to moduretic for BP, Vitamin C, Fansidar, antibiotics and a wide range of medicine for the public.

It was a great day with people also getting saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.
