Whto we are (part 1)

During our Healing Convention 2006, the Lord spoke to me saying that results are primarily based on who we are. Many of us are doing a lot to make results in life, but in order to really achieve lasting results; you have to know who you are.

As a male, you can never get pregnant, no matter what you do and that’s a fact. You know it. You’re a man, and men don’t get pregnant. So, no matter what you do, or what effort you make, you cannot get any results in this particular area. However, if you are a female, because of who you are, results are bound to abound.

In Christ, we need to know who we are. Lack of knowledge in this area has hindered many children of God.

II Corinthians. 6:14-16
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers for what fellowship hath righteous ness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God and they shall be my people.

From this passage of scripture we can see that a born-again child of God (you) is called righteousness, light, Christ, believer, and temple of God while the unbeliever is called unrighteousness, darkness, Belial, infidel and idol. We are righteousness.

II Corinthian. 5:21
For He hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

God has made us the righteousness of God in Christ. Praise God. When you got born-again you became righteous.

Romans 3:24-26
Being justified (made righteous) freely (we are made righteous freely) we are made righteous by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past through the forbearance of God; to declare I say at this time His righteousness; that He might be just (righteous) and the justifier (righteousness) of him which believeth in Jesus.

Therefore, in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, God has made everyone righteous in Christ. Jesus is righteous, and He is the righteousness of all who believe in Him. This is who you are in Christ; you are the righteousness of God. You are not going to be anymore righteous when you get to heaven than you are right now. Also, you know what? God Himself is not any more righteous than you are. Yes, that’s right. God is not anymore righteous than you because He is our righteousness. We are made righteous with His very own righteousness.

Romans 4:25 & Romans 5:1
Who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification (righteousness). Therefore being justified (made righteous) by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus died for our sins and was raised for our righteousness. This is the way you should see yourself.

II Corinthians. 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

When you got born-again you became a new creature (creation) in Christ. Old things are passed away. The old ‘you’ with all its problems, curses, etc are passed away. All things have become new. If you got born-again on the 22nd of June 2003, the you who lived before that date have passed away. A new you, created in the image and likeness of God is now living. This new you is the righteousness of God. This new you has never sinned. This new you is just like a new-born baby. You have the nature of God; the life of God; the Zoë of God. No one can hold you responsible for anything the old ‘you’ did. The old ‘you’ is dead and now a new you lives the same house (your body). You need to get that. If you were renting a house and a stranger came along and said, “Five years ago, the person renting this house borrowed 10 million naira from me. Pay up right now.” What would you say? I know what I would say! I would say, “Well, I may be living in this house right now, but I’m not the person who borrowed money from you. The guy who did that is no longer living here so, please get out.”

You need to understand that the person who was formerly living in your body is dead. A new person has moved in and this person is the righteousness of God. Praise the Lord.

You are righteous.

You are light.

Matthew 5:14-16
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it giveth light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.

Jesus said we are light. Light always dominates its immediate surroundings. As light, we should dominate our immediate surroundings e.g. our body. We should dominate our bodies not sickness or poverty. Darkness can never dominate light and as such the devil and his cohorts should not be allowed to dominate us. Light brings illumination. Therefore as light we should bring light to others. We ought to bring light (development) to anything we are involved in.

John 1:4
In Him was life and the light was the light of men.

In us is life (Zoë; the nature of God) and this life is the light of men. The life gives light to men. We are light-givers and life-givers. I give light and I give life.

Ephesians 5:8-11,13
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have not fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

You are light. Walk as light. Remember, you are the righteousness of God and you are light. Praise God!
